INTRODUCTION

These terms explain the rules for using greyring.com, including its vacancy listings, information, contact forms and CV submission facilities. Please read them before using the website. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the website; you can contact us to discuss another way to access our services.

1. About Grey Ring

This website is operated by GREY RING LTD., trading as Grey Ring, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12855748. Our registered office is 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

Contact us at contact@greyring.com or +44 (0)20 8178 9660. References to “Grey Ring”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean this company.

2. The scope of these terms

These terms govern website use. They do not set the commercial terms for recruitment services, candidate introductions, contractor supply or employment. Those matters are governed by the applicable separately agreed terms of business, work-finding terms, engagement contract, assignment schedule or other agreement.

Browsing the website, submitting a CV or sending an enquiry does not by itself create an employment relationship, an exclusive representation arrangement or an obligation to accept a role. It does not by itself make a client liable for a recruitment fee. Any such obligations depend on the applicable recruitment agreement and law.

Where separately agreed service terms apply, they govern the relevant service and prevail over these website terms in the event of a conflict about that service. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory duties under employment-agency, employment, equality, consumer or data-protection law.

3. Our recruitment services

Grey Ring supports permanent and contract recruitment. Permanent candidates ordinarily contract with the hiring employer. Contract assignments depend on the separately agreed engagement arrangements. The applicable agreements and law determine each party’s responsibilities.

We do not charge candidates a fee for finding or attempting to find them work. Registration, sending a CV or progressing an application does not guarantee an interview, an offer, a placement or any particular pay or working conditions. We do not require candidates to use us exclusively under these website terms.

Recruitment decisions and eligibility requirements must comply with applicable law. Please tell us if you need a reasonable adjustment or an accessible way to participate in a recruitment process.

4. Vacancies and website information

We take reasonable care over the information we publish. Vacancy details may depend on information supplied by the hirer and can change as a recruitment process develops. A role may be amended, withdrawn or filled, and the website may not immediately reflect every change. We correct material errors brought to our attention.

Salary or rate indications, location, working arrangements, benefits and start dates are subject to confirmation for the particular role and the final agreement. Unless an advertisement says otherwise, pay figures are gross and before applicable tax or deductions. An advertisement is an invitation to enquire or apply, rather than a binding offer of work.

Please check the material details with the relevant recruiter before making a commitment, including resigning from a current position or incurring travel or relocation costs.

Articles, market commentary and general career information are provided for general information. They are not individual legal, tax, immigration, investment or employment advice. Obtain advice appropriate to your circumstances where needed.

5. Information and materials you submit

Please provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge, distinguish facts from opinions and tell us about material changes relevant to an application. Do not knowingly misrepresent qualifications, employment history, identity, eligibility or authority to act for another person or organisation.

Only submit materials that you are entitled to share. Remove confidential client or employer information that is unnecessary for recruitment. If you provide a referee’s details, make sure the referee is aware and give them our Privacy Policy. We discuss reference arrangements before making contact and do not contact your current employer for a reference without your agreement.

You retain ownership of your CV and other original materials. You permit us to copy, store, format and share those materials only as reasonably necessary for the recruitment or business purpose for which they were supplied, in accordance with the Privacy Policy, your relevant instructions and applicable law. This is not permission to publish your CV publicly, sell it for unrelated marketing or use it without a continuing lawful purpose.

Use of your materials remains subject to your data-protection rights and our retention obligations. These terms do not replace a lawful basis for processing. We obtain separate permission where appropriate before publishing identifiable testimonials or promotional material.

We may decline or remove a submission that is unlawful, malicious, materially misleading, irrelevant or incompatible with the technical requirements of the facility. We act reasonably and consider any duty to retain a record or explain our decision.

6. Acceptable use and security

You must use the website lawfully and respect other people’s rights. You must not:

•         Impersonate another person, submit fraudulent applications or vacancies, or misuse another person’s personal information.

•         Upload malicious software or attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, files, accounts or data.

•         Disrupt the website, overload its infrastructure or interfere with another person’s use.

•         Use the website to send unsolicited advertising or distribute unlawful, discriminatory, threatening, harassing or rights-infringing material.

•         Harvest personal information, bypass access restrictions, or use automated scraping or extraction in breach of applicable law or our intellectual-property rights.

These restrictions do not prevent legitimate search-engine indexing, ordinary accessibility tools or activities that cannot lawfully be prohibited. Automated reuse beyond ordinary indexing requires our written agreement where we are entitled to control that use.

Take reasonable precautions to protect the device and connection you use. Tell us promptly if you discover a suspected security issue, without accessing or disclosing other people’s information. We may investigate and report unlawful activity where appropriate.

7. Our intellectual property and sharing links

Except for material owned by you or another identified owner, the website design, text, graphics, branding and other content belong to Grey Ring or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law.

You may view the website and save or print reasonable extracts for your own job search or internal hiring needs. You may share links to vacancies and pages, provided you do so fairly and do not imply an endorsement, partnership or affiliation that does not exist.

Keep relevant ownership notices and acknowledge Grey Ring when quoting permitted extracts. Obtain permission before republishing substantial content, commercially exploiting it or using our branding beyond those permitted purposes, unless the law allows the use. Do not frame the website in a way that misrepresents its source.

Third-party names and trade marks belong to their owners. Their appearance does not by itself establish a partnership, endorsement or authorisation.

8. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information supplied through the website and during recruitment. Our Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar technologies and how to manage them. These notices are available through the website footer.

Accepting these terms, visiting a page or submitting a CV does not constitute consent to optional cookies, unrelated marketing or unrestricted sharing of personal information. Where consent is required, we request it separately and provide a way to withdraw it.

9. External websites and services

The website may link to employers, job platforms, professional networks, maps or other independent services. Those organisations control their own websites and terms. Check their terms and privacy information before providing information or using their services.

A link is provided for convenience and is not a guarantee about the external service. We are not responsible for an independent website’s operation simply because we link to it. This does not exclude responsibility for our own conduct, representations or obligations when arranging a service or handling information.

10. Availability and changes

The public website is provided without a browsing charge. We may update or maintain it, change its features, or temporarily restrict access where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance or operational reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access.

We take reasonable steps to give notice of a material planned interruption where practicable. If a form is unavailable or an important submission has not been acknowledged, contact us using the details in section 1.

We may suspend access or remove content where reasonably necessary to address misuse, protect others or comply with law. Where appropriate, we explain the reason and provide an opportunity to put matters right. Urgent security or legal situations may require immediate action. Restricting website access does not remove your privacy rights or alter a separate engagement agreement.

11. Responsibility for loss or damage

Liability that is not excluded

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing removes your statutory rights or rights to compensation and remedies under applicable data-protection law.

Individuals using the website for a personal job search

If we fail to comply with these terms or fail to exercise reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure, subject to applicable law. Loss is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence or was reasonably contemplated by both parties at the relevant time.

Business use

If you use the website in the course of your business or on behalf of an organisation, and subject to the protections above, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential business loss arising from website use only to the extent that the exclusion is lawful and reasonable. Responsibility for recruitment fees, service delivery, contractor supply and other contracted work is governed by the relevant separate agreement and applicable law.

12. Complaints and accessibility

If you have a concern about the website, a vacancy or our service, contact contact@greyring.com, call +44 (0)20 8178 9660 or write to our registered office. We refer complaints to an appropriate person, investigate and explain the outcome within a reasonable time.

If you cannot access a page, form or document, tell us what you need so we can discuss an accessible alternative. Data-protection complaints are handled under the process in our Privacy Policy. Nothing requires you to give up a right to approach a regulator, tribunal or court.

13. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms for a change in law, website functionality or the way the website operates. We publish the revised version with its date and take reasonable steps to draw material changes to users’ attention where appropriate. Changes apply prospectively and do not retrospectively change an existing recruitment or engagement agreement.

If any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue so far as legally possible. A delay in enforcing a right does not mean it has been waived. These terms do not give an unrelated third party a right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999; this does not affect any independent legal rights.

14. Governing law and courts

These website terms and disputes connected with them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction where applicable law provides them. In particular, consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their local courts. These terms do not restrict the jurisdiction of a competent employment tribunal or data-protection authority.
